Industrial Design Engineer
Hello, my name is Jane Tuinstra. I am now working for 'van Keulen Interieurbouw' in Nijverdal, the Netherlands. I worked for Stenfert interieur & design in dieren, The Netherlands, Kennovations in Sydney, Australia and Philips Consumer Lifestyle in the Netherlands. I graduated from the Windesheim University in Zwolle, the Netherlands in 2014 for Industrial Design Engineering.
Brace for tremor patients
The first concept was presented on the first edition of the design competition of the Innovatiecluster Drachten in 2013. My project partner and I won 1st prize with this concept.
The PhiliBrace is a brace that prevents the trembles in the hand and arm of a tremor patient (people with shaky hands). The brace is positioned near the elbow on the forearm. I developed this concept further in 2014 as a graduation project with the company Philips Consumer Lifestyle.
This concept still needs alot of development and official testing sessions before it is ready for the market.

Taronga Wild! Rhino
Public artwork for rhino conservation
The ElectroRhino was my biggest project of my internship at Kennovations in Sydney, Australia. In Sept. 2013 Taronga Zoo launched a conservation project to raise awareness and funds for black rhino breeding. 125 rhinos in total were placed in and around Sydney in Feb. and March of 2014. I submitted several designs for the rhinos representing Kennovations. The ElectroRhino was chosen to be made by the 'Taronga Wild! Rhino' committee.
The ElectroRhino has Electro- luminescence lights applied all over the body to highlight the contours of the body. It also has a 'armour' made of carbon fibre vinyl wrapping to represent its strength and toughness.
The ElectroRhino was auctioned off for 18000 AUD.
